Proceeds from Tim Hortons Smile Cookies in Durham going to Ontario Shores

The Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health has been chosen as the charity of choice for the upcoming Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign in Durham Region.

The 74 locations across the region will donate the proceeds from the cookie campaign to the foundation.

“We are incredibly grateful to our local Tim Hortons owners for choosing to support Ontario Shores Foundation this year,” said Tracy Clegg, Ontario Shores Foundation CEO.

“The funds and awareness inspired by Smile Cookie week will create a sense of hope for people living with mental health challenges, as well as help combat the persistent stigma.”

Every year, Tim Hortons guests and owners around the country rally together to make a difference with the Smile Cookie campaign.

“We’re honoured to share in selling our cookies as a powerful force for good,” said Pauline Lauzon, local Tim Hortons owner.

“With the incredible support of our loyal customers, we can make great strides in helping Ontario Shores Foundation in their journey to further the mental health movement and provide much needed support to this world-class facility.”

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, a specialized mental health hospital in Whitby, provides exemplary mental health care to inpatients and out patients in Durham Region and across Ontario.

“We are proud of the care we provide across our shared communities to improve the lives of those impacted by mental illness,” said Karim Mamdani, President and CEO, Ontario Shores.

“Thank you to the Durham Region Tim Hortons restaurants for joining us on our journey to advance care for the people we serve.”

Starting Monday, Tim Hortons will hold its week-long Smile Cookie campaign.
