Province reports 598 new COVID-19 cases Friday


There’s less than 600 new COVID cases Friday, but still an increase from a week ago.

The province reported 598 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, at least 376 of which were people who are not fully vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown.

The seven-day average for Ontario is now at 537 per day.

Five new deaths were announced, which brings the death toll to 9,922.

The province now releases data about new cases and those in hospital who are vaccinated, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated.

As of November 11, there were 13 patients from Saskatchewan in Ontario, 12 of whom are in the ICU.

There are 462 more resolved cases in the province.

The number of active cases went up to 4,400.

There were 30,230 tests completed the day prior to this report.

The province reported a positivity rate of 2.5 per cent.

So far in Ontario, 22,681,696 vaccines have been administered.

According to the province, 11,555,033 people have at least one dose and 11,126,663 people are fully vaccinated or have received both doses.
