O.P.P. ask for help locating missing Huntsville man

Ontario Provincial Police is reaching out to the public for help in locating a missing man. Police say 28-year-old Ryan Stickland of Huntsville was last seen in April 2013 in Huntsville. He is described as white, 6 feet tall, around 175 lbs. with brown hair, blue eyes. He has a lower lip ring, a tattoo of a bird on his left shoulder, and he is known to wear a goatee. Police believe he may be in the Montreal or Toronto area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Toronto Police search for a sexual assault suspect

Toronto Police are looking for a man in his thirties after a woman was sexually assaulted over the weekend. Investigators say the 22 year old victim was walking in the Keele and Gulliver Road area around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday when a man stopped in a newer model silver Dodge Avenger and assaulted her before fleeing. The man is described as white with a tanned or olive complexion, 30-40, 5’8″-6′, with a medium build. He had short, dark, thinning hair, and was unshaven. He was last seen wearing a dark waist-length jacket, and a light coloured shirt.
Two alarm blaze at Brampton home causes $1 million in damage

There’s hardly anything left of a Brampton home that went up in flames. The garage looks like an empty shell, and photos show just partial frames left standing. Crews were on the scene for hours at the Willow Park Drive home, after the two alarm blaze broke out around 2:30 a.m Sunday morning. Damage is estimated at $1-million. Before crews could get the fire under control, it spread to three other houses. The cause isn’t known yet, but no injuries were reported.
Dump truck crashes on 407 killing one person

A crash on the 407 Saturday morning has killed one person. Police say a man was driving a dump truck, when lost control near Bathurst, just before 8 .am. The truck hit a concrete median, and spilled soil across the lanes. The westbound lanes are expected to remain closed for several hours, from from Bayview to Dufferin.
Tim Bosma’s widow speaks to Hamilton TV station, says she’s still trying to cope with his death

The widow of Tim Bosma is still trying to come to terms with her husband’s death. Sharlene Bosma says she doesn’t understand why he was killed, and told Hamilton TV station CHCH, there’s no reason her husband to die. Meanwhile, Dellen Millard and Mark Smich, both in orange prison jumpsuits, said little during their separate video appearances in a Hamilton court on Thursday. Their lawyers say they hope to receive disclosure from the Crown by Aug. 1. Millard and Smich both plan to plead not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Bosma, who disappeared May 6 after taking two men on a test drive of a pickup truck he was trying to sell online.
Peel Police investigating after two separate deadly crashes

Peel Police continue to investigate two separate crashes in the GTA, which has left three people dead. The first collision happened in Brampton near Highway 50 and Fogal Road. The 2-car crash left one man dead and sent two children to hospital. One of the children died in a nearby hospital, while the other was taken to Sickkids in Toronto and reportedly suffering from life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, a teenage girl has died after being struck by a car in Mississauga. The 13-year-old was hit after a car ran through a fence, near Dixie and Bloor. She died in hospital. Police say the driver was also taken to the hospital, and is being treated for shock.
Judge dismisses conflict of interest complaint against Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion

A judge has dismissed a conflict of interest complaint against Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion that threatened to force her out of office. The allegation was brought forward by a Mississauga resident stemming from a 2007 vote at Peel Region council. McCallion was accused of interfering in a lucrative land deal that benefited her son, but denied the accusation in court saying she didn’t know much about her son’s real estate businesses. The judge found that McCallion’s vote in the matter did not violate the municipal conflict of interest act.
Massive raids throughout GTA include a building where Mayor Rob Ford is alleged to have been video tapped smoking crack cocaine

A series of early-morning Thursday raids in the GTA and across the province has led to the arrest of dozens of suspected drug and gun traffickers and the seizure of large amounts of drugs, weapons and cash. Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair says 39 search warrants were executed in the so-called Project Traveller, which began in June, 2012, following numerous violent crimes, including murder and attempted murder. The raids began shortly after 5:00m a.m., and involved police from multiple jurisdictions including Durham, the RCMP and Ontario Provincial 19 people were arrested this morning in Toronto and nine in Windsor, adding that to date 43 people have been arrested in the investigation. Targets around the Greater Toronto Area included an apartment building where an alleged video that appeared to show Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine was reported to be located. Durham Police lay charges in credit card fraud investigation

Durham Police are laying charges against two people for credit card fraud. On Tuesday, an Oshawa retail store contacted police after gift cards were purchased using a fraudulent credit card. The suspects were stopped in a cab in north Oshawa and arrested. Multiple fraudulent credit cards were allegedly found in their possession. A 37 year old Vaughan woman and a 33 year old Toronto man have been charged.
Four options revealed for future of Gardiner Expressway

Four options for the future of the eastern section of the Gardiner Expressway have been revealed by the city of Toronto. Plans to remove, repair, maintain, or improve will now undergo an environmental assessment. Whatever the outcome is, work on the 2.4 kilometer elevated stretch of the aging highway will begin next spring. Residents can offer their input tonight at 6 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Turn around − south of Charles Street
Southbound − Queen’s Park Crescent East
Southbound − University Avenue northbound lanes

Robbery leads to police chase, carjacking, fire and manhunt in York Region

It was a busy Wednesday morning for York police after a robbery led to a police chase, a carjacking and a fire. Officers were responding to a robbery at a convenience store in Richmond Hill when they encountered the suspect, who fled the scene on his motorcycle. While running from the cops the suspect collided with an SUV on Yonge Street he then took the vehicle and proceeded while dragging his damaged motorcycle underneath. The man stopped the car and fled in the Yonge and Bloomington area after the vehicle caught on fire. Officers launched a manhunt and with help from helicopters and the canine unit and they apprehended the suspect a short time later. The investigation is on-going.
