FORMER PRESIDENT AND CEO OF LOVELL DRUGS DIES

Stanley Lovell, who served as President and CEO of Lovell Drugs after his father E.A. Lovell died,  passed away Sunday June 17th.  Stan retired from the position in 1997 but the drug store chain is now run by his children.  Lovell served on the board of the Oshawa General Hospital, was a member of the Oshawa Board of Education from 1962 to 1969 and was a founding member of the Board of Governors of Durham College. He was also a member of the Oshawa Rotary Club. Lovell was 84. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 30th at the Armstrong Funeral Home at 124 King Street East in Oshawa from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm as well as Thursday July 1st from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at Simcoe Street United Church on Friday July 2nd at 11:00 am.
