ABANDONED HOUSE FIRE IN PICKERING

A fire at an abandoned home in Pickering is believed to have started in the basement. Officials say it took 17 firefighters to put out the fire on Wednesday afternoon on Whites near Kingston Road. Officials say there appeared to be no one in the home at the time. Damage is pegged at about $150,000. An investigation into the cause continues.
