Snowfall warning cancelled for southern Ontario

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Toronto

It has been over five years since the GTA has received this much snowfall in a 24-hour period according to Environment Canada.  Officials say most areas of the Golden Horseshoe got roughly 25 centimetres while some regions got over 30.  Meanwhile, the CAA responded to thousands of calls.  Police and city officials are urging people to stay off the roads if at all possible, so works crews can work on the clean-up. The storm has also caused numerous flight cancellations at Pearson Airport.  Those scheduled to fly out of Toronto, are advised to check their flight status before heading out.  Flight information is available by clicking here.  You can find road safety info on the stormdesk page of our website.  You can also keep track of the Environment Canada forecast by clicking here.
