Suspicious man approaches young boys in Oshawa

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Crime, Durham

Durham Police are warning young people to be extremely vigilant when walking to or from school. Officials say on Monday afternoon, a 9 year-old boy and his friend were approached by a man on Cherrydown Drive in Oshawa. The man questioned them about throwing apple sauce on his vehicle, and tried to persuade the two to follow him back to the car. He then offered them candy, but the two were smart enough not to follow him, and reported the incident to a parent. The suspicious person is described as white, in his 30s with short, brown hair. The vehicle is described as a small, silver, 4-door car. Investigators are eager to identify and speak with this person, and asked anyone with information to contact Central East Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5100.
