With the possibility of severe weather, the Red Cross issues safety tips for families

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Toronto

With the possibility of severe weather coming this way, families are being reminded on what to do in an emergency. The Canadian Red Cross says residents should be able to sustain themselves for at least 72 hours. Officials also say by storing food, water and other supplies, you will be able to provide for your family in the event of power outages or forced evacuations. Officials recommend having easy-to-carry containers, such as suitcases, on hand, as well as a crank or battery-operated flashlight. For more safety tips, click here.
