Skilled trades groups not impressed with the new Ontario College of Trades

The newly formed Ontario College of Trades is getting a lot of backlash from trades workers. The Durham Region Home Builders Association is urging the Liberal government to get rid of it and Executive Director Anita Devries says they’ve joined a campaign because the extra red tape also means a $120 a year fee for workers. She says they don’t believe the bureaucracy, increased regulations and additional taxes will heighten professionalism of trades.
