Flood warnings issued across southern Ontario as Hurricane Sandy approaches

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Toronto

Flood warnings have been issued in the GTA, and other spots across southern Ontario as Hurricane Sandy is expected to hit on Monday. Wet and wild weather is in the forecast, and the Toronto Region Conservation Authority says the rainfall over the coming days will raise water levels and quicken the flow of rivers and streams. According to Environment Canada, the rain will be accompanied by strong gusty winds between 50 and 70 kilometres an hour. The agency says the storm should weaken late in the day on Tuesday.
