Durham MPP disappointed with Ontario’s handling of the deficit

According to some members of the opposition, Premier Dalton McGuinty’s resignation has overshadowed the continuing issue of the province’s deficit. The projected deficit for this fiscal year is $14.4 billion, and Durham MPP John O’Toole says servicing the debt is Ontario’s third largest expenditure after health care and education. O’Toole says the government needs to review all of its programs to determine what is essential, in order to establish a plan to reign in spending
