Federal Government beefs up budget to secure cyber systems

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews says Canadians should be confident that government networks and the personal information they contain are secure. He says the Harper government will spend another 155 million dollars over the next five years to reinforce its cyber security systems. Toews some of the funding will go to the government’s Cyber Incident Response Centre. The national body monitors evolving online threats, offers advice on security and co-ordinates responses to cyber attacks.
