The role of a bus driver is the focus of ‘School Bus Safety Week’

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Education, GTA, Toronto

Thank a bus driver. That’s the theme for School Bus Safety week.  Chief Administrative Officer with Student Transportation Services Joel Sloggett says it’s a tough job and bus drivers don’t often get recognized in a positive way. He reminds drivers to obey bus signals and be patient, saying they get reports of motorists ignoring safety arms and lights each week. Sloggett reminds students to stand back from the road, wait calmly and be courteous once they’re on the bus and on their way to school.
