Building permit sales in Whitby continue to rise

September was a positive month for building permit sales in Whitby. A total of 79 permits were sold last month, up from 73 for the same period last year. However, the construction value for those permits skyrocketed up almost 270 per cent to more than $56.6 million. Year-to-date construction value is up almost 20 per cent.  A major building permit issued last month was for the Fairview Lodge long term care home being built on Dundas Street West, that comes with a construction value of more than $42.4 million.
