GM announces job opportunities for laid off workers at Electro Motive Diesel

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Business, Durham

There’s good news for some laid off auto workers. Thanks to the deal work out between the Canadian Auto Workers and General Motors, about 160 workers who lost their jobs at Electro Motive Diesel in February, will be back on the job. They’ll be eligible to accept offers at GM plants in Oshawa and Ingersoll. Only employees who were working for Electro Motive Diesel when the GM sold it in 2007, will be entitled to the deal.
