Joe Biden and Paul Ryan square off in the Vice-Presidential debate

Vice President Joe Biden and his Republican rival Paul Ryan talked US foreign policy, health-care reform and taxes, Thursday. It was the first and last meeting of the vice presidential candidates, ahead of November’s vote. Biden told the audience in Danville, Kentucky, that Ryan had stood in the way of making middle-class tax cuts permanent. Ryan countered that unemployment in Biden’s hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania is now higher than it was before Obama took office.
