Federal budget deficit for 2011-2012 higher than forecasted

The Federal deficit for fiscal 2011-2012 has come in higher than estimated. The shortfall for the year ending March 30 is $1.3 billion over first predictions. Finance Minister and Whitby-Oshawa MP Jim Flaherty says the overage reflects the country’s sound economic and fiscal fundamentals.
