Police charge Toronto man with fraud involving a Bowmanville company

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Business, Crime, Durham, GTA, Toronto

A Toronto man is facing charges after 10 people and businesses say they were defrauded of more than a million dollars in a green energy investment.  Police allege the frauds occurred between December of 2009 and March of this year through a Bowmanville company called Saunders Power Inc.  They say the company claimed it manufactured “cork-screw style” wind turbines capable of producing energy that could be sold back to the Ontario Power Authority for a lucrative profit.  Fifty-six-year-old Gregory Saunders is charged with fraud and forgery.
