Tories stay mum on wage freeze talks for public sector workers

The Tories aren’t ready to say if they’ll support the proposed bill that would impose a two-year wage freeze on nearly 500 thousand public sector workers. The PCs say the draft bill is weak and exempts municipalities. That means local police, firefighters and public transit workers would not be captured by the wage freeze. Finance Minister, Dwight Duncan, says the government is trying to protect existing jobs by asking workers to forego pay hikes for two years.
