Durham Police charge Scarborough man in million dollar investment fraud

A 56 year-old Scarborough man has been charged in connection with a million dollar fraud investigation. Durham Police say 10 individuals and businesses reported being defrauded in a green energy investment. Investigators say between December 2009 and this past March, the accused set up a company in Bowmanville geared at manufacturing wind turbines, and allegedly forged documents and a fake licence. The company was called Saunders Power Incorporated and was located on Wellington Street West. Gregory saunders is charged with fraud and forgery.  Anyone with information is urged to call police at 905-579-1520, ext. 5353 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
