Peel Police have their first female Chief

Peel Region is getting its first female Chief of Police. Deputy Chief Jennifer Evans will become Peel’s 6th Chief of Police since 1974, capping a 29 year career with the force. Evans has worked in numerous roles with Peel Police, including more than 8 years on the criminal investigations squad. She’s replacing outgoing Chief Mike Metcalf, who announced this spring he was resigning after 4 decades with the force. Evans will be sworn in next Tuesday.
