Orono family comes home to find pet dog hanged in the backyard

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

The Durham Humane Society is investigating a despicable case of animal cruelty. Officials say last Monday, an Orono family went out for an hour, leaving their two dogs in the back yard, on Church Street South. When they returned they found one of their dogs, a Miniature Schnauzer named Heidi, hanging from the deck. The family is distraught over the apparently deliberate hanging of their dog. Investigators have no leads and are asking for the public’s help to identify the person responsible. To contact the Humane Society, call 905-242-8461, or 905-665-7430 ext 225.

I heard the neighbours that live in the area were not upset! It is aterrible thing to happen but maybe it was anuisance dog the owners failed to control and people in the area acted on their own.
