Workers at Ford Canada ratify four-year contract

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Business, GTA

Workers at Ford Canada have ratified the tentative contract reached last week. The CAW says 82 per cent of voters approved the four-year deal. The agreement gives new employees lower wages, but the company will add about 600 jobs to its assembly plant in Oakville. Workers at General Motors will vote on their tentative deal on Wednesday and Thursday. The union is set to sit down with Chrysler again Monday. The two sides reportedly held informal discussions Sunday and hopes it can nail down an agreement this week.
