Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Toronto

The legendary Sam the Record Man has died at the age of 92. Sam Sniderman and his broth opened the flagship Sam the Record Man store, with its flashing neon signs, on Yonge Street in 1959. The Toronto icon closed in 2007. Sniderman was honoured with the order of Canada in 1976 and inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997, all for his tireless support and promotion of Canadian music.
