Province-wide seatbelt campaign focuses on child safety seats

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Toronto

Seatbelt safety will once again to front and centre for police across the province. Officers will keep an eye out for those not wearing their seat belts, but will also have a special focus on motorists failing to correctly install child seats. Under Ontario law, all caregivers are required to have children under the age of 16 secured in their vehicle with the child car seat, booster seat or seatbelt. Anyone caught not wearing a seatbelt faces a $200 fine and two demerit points.
