Officials say a gas leak led to approximately twenty homes being evacuated as a precautionary measure in Markham Saturday morning. York police and fire officials were called to the scene after reports of loud, booming noises near Claxton Road, signaling a possible explosion. Officials say a gas leak was found near Raymerville Drive and Markham Road. No injuries were reported.
