General Motors issues recall of 40,000 vehicles

Almost 40,000 cars are being recalled in Canada, because of a potential transmission problem. According to Transport Canada, the recall includes 2008 to 2010 Chevy Malibu and Pontiac G6’s as well as 2007 to 2010 Saturn Auras, all with automatic transmissions. Officials say shift cable locking tabs could break and if that happens, the transmission may not be in the same position as indicated on the shift lever.
