SIU clears officer after investigation into serious crash in Toronto

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Crime, Toronto

Ontario’s police watchdog has cleared a Toronto officer of any wrong doing in connection to a serious collision in the Midland and Lawrence area. According to the SIU, a vehicle crossed the centre line and crashed into a cruiser with its sirens activated on August 23rd. Director Ian Scott says speed can’t be ruled as a factor, because the officer was responding to a call and was exempt from speed limits at the time. Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the incident.
