Doctor recruitment efforts continue in Oshawa

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Healthcare

Progress is being made in the effort to end Oshawa’s doctor shortage.  The city’s recruitment committee will be proposing a ‘Regional Recruitment Model’ to city council, hopefully by November.  Currently Oshawa alone is about 20 doctors short, and spokesperson for the committee, John Samis, says doctors are stretched too thin. Samis says he hopes the recruitment model will be put into practice by early 2013.
