A very sad day for the TTC, as a 49 year-old worker was hit and killed near Yorkdale station

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Toronto

It has been a very tragic day for the TTC.  Officials say just before 5:00 Friday morning, two workers were hit by a maintenance train near the Yorkdale station.  One of the victims, 49 year-old Peter Pavlovski, was killed, while the other suffered serious injuries.  Pavlovski was a subway track and tunnel foreman and had been an employee with the commission since 1990.  The driver of the maintenance train was also taken to hospital, suffering from severe shock.  There’s no word yet on what caused the accident, but the Ministry of Labour is investigating.
