Oshawa touts strong building permit sales in August

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

While many municipalities struggle through the economic recovery, Oshawa is faring quite well. So far this year, the city has sold 811 building permits, up from 802 at this point last year. In August, permit sales actually fell from 120 in 2011 to 111 in 2012. However, the construction value for those permits jumped from $18.7 million to more than $28.1 million.  There was a major permit issued to the Durham District School Board last month, for a $10.5 million school being built on Queensbury Drive.
