Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

A Clarington man was killed in what Durham Police are calling a freak act of nature.  Officials say at about 4:00 Saturday afternoon, they were called to White Road and Clarington Concession Road 8 after reports of a tree falling on a pick-up truck.  Police say the area was being pounded by rain and strong winds at the time.  The victim, identified as 68 year old William Stapleton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
