Durham MPP expresses concerns over proposed electoral boundary changes

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Politics

As the federal Electoral Boundaries Commission continues to look into adding more seats in Ontario, concerns about potential riding changes are being raised. Durham MPP John O’Toole says the current proposals do not properly serve Durham Region. O’Toole says the boundaries should coincide more closely with municipal borders, adding that under the proposal, Clarington would be split between three separate ridings. O’Toole also believes the ridings proposed for the northern and eastern areas of the region are not very well organized. To view all potential changes and for a list of public hearings, click here.
