Privacy Commissioner releases report in the wake of a privacy breach at Elections Ontario

If the security policies put in place to protect voter privacy aren’t followed, then they’re useless. That sentiment from Ontario Privacy Commissioner Ann Cavoukian. Following a breach of privacy at Elections Ontario, Cavoukian has released a report, saying organizations must beef up their enforcement and understanding of privacy policies. In April, Election Ontario discovered two memory sticks, containing names, addresses and birthdates of 2.4 million voters had gone missing.
