Whitby plans assessment project of its trees

The Town of Whitby is hoping to protect its natural assets. They’ve launched a tree inventory and assessment project, with plans to assess half of the 41 thousand trees located on boulevards this year. Public Works spokesperson, Imtiaz Shaikh, says they want to know about the health of the trees, and if there are problems like pests, the town needs to put a plan in place now to protect their long-term health.
