Province invests in improving emergency care

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Healthcare, Politics, Toronto

Emergency care in Durham hospitals is improving thanks to a funding boost from the provincial government.  Municipalities throughout Ontario will receive funding to have extra nurses on staff that will only assist patients that come to hospital by ambulance.  Pickering-Scarborough-East MPP, Tracy MacCharles says this allows EMS workers to free up time to get to other emergencies.  MacCharles says Durham Region will be getting over $463,000 to fund this initiative in 2012-2013.
