Cupe Workers in talks to fight two year wage freeze

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Education, Politics

Custodians, secretaries and other support staff members are also looking for a fair deal from the province, as teachers fight a two year wage freeze sought by the province.  CUPE Ontario coordinating committee chair, Terri Preston, says their current contract expires August 31st and as per usual, she expects talks to continue past that date.  She says support staff don’t make as much as teachers and would be especially hurt by a wage freeze as Ontarians face increased gas, food and heating prices.
