Online fraud scam busted by Durham police

More than 50-thousand dollars in stolen goods has been recovered and four suspects identified after an online scam was busted by the Durham police and O-P-P. Police say the suspects used fraudulent certified cheques to buy merchandise on the Kijiji website. Investigators say the suspects were based in Ajax, and used a truck registered to a fictitious company, counterfeit identification and pay-as-you-go cellphones in order to prevent being identified. Two Sea-Doos, a trailer and a commercial generator were recovered.
