Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Crime, Durham

A 62 year-old Oshawa man has been charged after allegedly arranging to meet a teenaged girl he’d been chatting with online. Durham Police say the accused engaged in sexual conversations with someone he thought was 15 years-old. Officers arrested Earl ‘Tom’ Jordan at his home Thursday. Investigators believe the man is very active on social networks, and want to ensure there are no other victims. Jordan is a trucker who travels frequently to Montreal. His online identity was ‘tom’ or ‘tomcat9rr’ and was claiming to be between the ages of 50 and 53. Anyone with further information is being asked to contact Detective Randy Norton of the DRPS Major Crime Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit- Internet Child Exploitation unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5363.
