Anti-smoking activists riding high on a new win

Anti-smoking groups are urging Ottawa to adopt a new Australian law that prohibits tobacco companies from displaying their logos on cigarette packs. Plain packaging for cigarettes will hit store shelves in Australia on December 1st. Spokesperson for the Canadian Cancer Society, Rob Cunningham, says it’s a great win, and will result in less people smoking. As of June, Health Canada increased the size of graphic warnings on the packaging to 75 percent.
