New probe into deaths involving ORNGE, now underway

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Healthcare, Politics, Toronto

The Office of the Chief Coroner is taking another look at deaths involving Ontario’s beleaguered air ambulance service.  A previous review of ORNGE found no deaths were materially affected by the air ambulance transport, but new cases have since been identified.  Doctor Dan Cass, who will sit on the review team, says an expert panel has been established.  He says the review is expected to be completed in late fall, with a public report to follow.  Meanwhile the troubled air ambulance service is still under police and provincial reviews, over questionable spending and management practices.
