Ajax senior charged following a stand-off with police

A stand-off between Durham Police and an elderly man has resulted in several charges being laid. Officials say on Monday afternoon, officers were called to the Elizabeth and Kingston Road area of Ajax, after a senior and his personal support worker got into a verbal dispute. The suspect was armed with a large knife, and was threatening the female worker. Police arrested the man under the mental health act. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
