Talks between the CAW and the Big Three continue

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Business, Durham

Talks between the Canadian Auto Workers and the big three automakers continue today. The CAW is sitting down with Ford Canada, as part of pre-negotiating get togethers. Tuesday, the union met with General Motors and Chrysler. While the CAW doesn’t expect to regain all the concessions made during the recession, the union leadership has said it wants workers to share in the profits now that the industry is on surer footing. GM officials are optimistic that a deal will be worked out prior to the September 17th contract expiry.
