Whitby postpones a meeting to discuss sharing OLG gaming revenues with Ajax

The Town of Whitby has postponed a meeting to discuss gaming revenue and the possibility of a new OLG gaming facility. Officials in Whitby, say they’ve requested the Town of Ajax, share the revenue from the slots at Ajax Downs and want to give members there time to consider the request. The Whitby Chamber of Commerce also recently came forward, urging council to let the OLG know, that they are a willing host for a new facility, that’s reportedly coming to the western Durham Region area. The meeting is now expected to take place sometime in early September.
