Courtice youth pastor charged with child luring

A child luring sting operation, has resulted in the arrest of a 42 year old Newcastle Man.  Durham Police say an officer was posing as a 15 year old boy, on-line when the suspect arranged a meeting for sex.  Officials say Kris Allan Gowdy was arrested without incident.  It was determined that the accused was a youth pastor at the Free Methodist Church in Courtice and has worked as a youth pastor in several other communities in Amherstview, Ontario, Sussex, New Brunswick, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Rochester, New York.  Police say he has a strong presence on social networking sites and was using the profile name “collegetoy2033″ and is HIV positive.  Authorities believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to call police at 1-888-579-1520, ext.5363 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
