It seems people are still using their cell phones while driving, as evidenced by a recent blitz by Durham Police. Officers focussed on the intersection of Liberty Street and King Street in Bowmanville, this past Tuesday and Wednesday and laid a total of 41 charges over that span. Officials say 21 of those were for using a hand-held communication device while driving. The fine for such an infraction in Ontario, is $155.00. Other charges included seatbelt infractions, no insurance card and no permit.
