Numerous beaches in Durham, posted as unsafe for swimming

Posted by news | Filed under Durham, Exclude

It’s expected to be a hit-or-miss kind of weekend, weather wise, and Durham residents are rather limited in their beach options.  According to the Health Department, only five of the Region’s 14 beaches are open and safe for swimming.  They include Bowmanville Beach East and West, Elgin Pond in Uxbridge, Lakeview Beach East in Oshawa and Whitby Beach.  Officials say all others have elevated bacteria levels and are unsafe for swimming.
