Ajax fire officials dispense safety tips

A power outage can increase the risk of a house fire, and Ajax officials are offering tips to prevent tragedy. They suggest ensuring all your smoke detectors have battery backup, using flashlights instead of candles, and making sure stoves, toasters and other appliances are shut off. Fire prevention officer, Kyle Chamberlain says every family needs to have an escape plan out of the house.
