Whitby joins the list of Towns to have a burn ban in place

It’s been a hot and dry month so far, which means many burn bans have been put in place across the Region. Whitby is the most recent Town to join the list of bans, which includes Scugog, Brock and Pickering. The burn ban is in effect immediately, and open air burning permits have been suspended. New open air burning permits will not be granted until further notice. As well, natural gas or propane fire pits cannot be used until the ban is lifted.
