Durham Police are looking for witnesses following a fatal two-vehicle collision in Pickering. Officials say the crash took place just before 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the intersection of Kingston and Rosebank Roads, when a northbound vehicle was broadsided by one heading west. A 79 year-old female passenger was killed, while a male driver and passenger in the same vehicle were taken to hospital. Alcohol and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the accident.

The only way a vehicle could be going northbound there is if it was in the process of turning left onto Rosebank which means an unsafe turn at least, probably either bad judgement by whoever was turnign coupled with someone running a yellow or red light. That is an all too common occurence these days.

Actually, it is very possible to be northbound on Rosebank at that point. Rosebank extends south of Kingston Rd a little bit and dead-ends at the 401. Church parking lot and Volkswagen dealership have accesses to it. Praying for all involved!
